We wanted to sleep in and so as a "reminder" to the kids, I taped off the hallway that leads to their rooms. But Connor crawled under it, banged on the door at 0'dark thirty asking if they could make breakfast! We told them to chill out and wait till we got up…closer to 8.
Then they were highly disappointed to learn that we wanted breakfast before presents! Connor had a lesson in how to make the perfect french toast from Dad….
After presents, we spent a while building legos-Connor and Maddy both got Super Hero Legos….Maddy was beyond excited to have her very own Hulk. She's loved him since seeing the Avengers.
"My" legos (that have already migrated to the kids stash) were a Pirates of the Caribbean set…with cute little skulls and cannibal guys. The kids really wanted to build it for me, but were willing to just help out and let me have some of the fun at first….then the Hulk showed up and the storylines got blurred. But it was still a lot of fun to hang out with the kids.
The kids actually play together really well...especially when legos are involved.
