365/12 (22 Dec 2012)

More Fun from our trip to Phoenix. The kids decided that 56 was warm enough to swim in the hotel pool (It was heated) and then we headed to the mall to see the Aquarium.

The kids loved all the bubble domes..and so did I! It was spaced out well and just large enough to feel like we had fun. They had a fun quiz for the kids spaced out through the exhibits too. Matt really likes aquariums, so we are looking forward to our next trip in Jan…the Monterey Bay Aquarium!

We were in the Christmas mood and paid for the kids to jump on "super trampolines". 5 minutes of a total blast for the kids. Matt and I kept telling them that they were going to hit their head and that we would pay them $20 if they could touch the ceiling….even though we knew they wouldn't….

We also had lunch at The Rainforest Cafe and the kids both gave it 5 stars (or in Maddy's case 123 stars) and thought that the "atmosphere" was excellent. They liked how we sat next to elephants that would occasionally wiggle their ears. Then a few times all of the animals would go crazy and the lights would flash. Fun visit and the food was pretty good too! Much better than I expected from a chain touristy spot.

Connor wore his new hat all day. We found it on clearance at Wilson's leather and he thought that it was the coolest thing he had ever seen. I wouldn't know anyone who would pay $80 for it, but at $20 (after tax) it was worth it!

We headed home afterwards…it was a long, exhausting family trip, but we will definetely do this again. Instead of just gifts for Christmas, we will do a family adventure instead. Making memories instead of just getting things.
