After a long hot day at the unit bbq, I really just wanted to go home....but the kids were so excited about being at the lake and they really wanted to see the "pedal-boats" .
So we took a quick stop and went for a ride. They insisted that they were pedal-boats because "see the pedals mommy?"
We braved the bugs that love yellow boats, the huge waves and the fact that one adult and two kids don't pedal very fast! But it was fun and the kids were so incredibly well behaved.
As we left, another child was throwing a tantrum about leaving. I asked Maddy if she heard the other child. She nodded very seriously and told me that "Not behaving is a VERY BAD idea. If you whine than the answer is always NO." I thanked her and Connor for making me so proud of their behavior. She told me, "Why thanks Mom! That's a good idea!"
Rock on my smart little one. rock on.
hum, could you pass some of that "good behavior" my way? mine are out of control this morning. at least we are just at home and nobody beside me has to be subjected to the little display at our house.
ReplyDeletenote to self....don't stay out that late. it makes kids really cantankerous the next morning!
